Wimbledon might be over but we’re just getting started.. with an all-out tennis theme! Whether it’s a focus on tennis gear, shadow selfies, players in action.. or simply Wimbledon strawberries and cream!..there's something for everyone.

There was a blend of laughter and deep concentration in class this week, as everyone got to work creating this super flock of seagulls... a few adorable puffins have crashed the party too!

We’re making big splashes, layering thick strokes of acrylic paint with palette knives. With a focus on capturing the dynamic movement of a crashing wave rather than strict realism, we have created these powerful, semi-abstract pieces.

This week we began our first session with acrylics, focusing on the advantages of underpainting and controlled layering. The result - a whole array of beautiful trees and house plants, from colourful, contemporary renditions to shiny green foliage.

This week we are painting with both watercolour and gouache. Some opted for the transparent, fluid nature of watercolours, whereas  others preferred the bolder, more opaque finish of gouache. From traditional terracotta to vibrant colours and intricate designs we have a beautiful collection of Mediterranean pottery.

ROARSOME.!!! Week seven sees us taking a walk on the wild side. All of our students, from beginners to the more experienced, have been creating these lovely lions with pen and watercolour washes.

The first week of watercolour has transported our brushes to the breathtaking island of Capri, nestled in the stunning Tyrrhenian Sea. Our paintings are coming together beautifully, capturing the shimmering jewel-bright seas, rugged coastlines, and glamorous charm of this gorgeous place.

The Summer theme is still going strong!.. we’ve been getting creative with colourful oil pastels again, capturing lots of refreshing lemonade in our drawings. Be warned!.. viewing may cause sudden cravings for ice-cold fizzy drinks!

Moving onto oil pastels this week, we’re celebrating the summer sunshine with these stylish sunglasses! Here our seasoned artists and newcomers are busy creating lots of ‘sunsational’ pieces, many of them trying oil pastels for the very first time 😎

Our final week of drawing is taking us on a trip down memory lane. We’re using graphite pencils to capture the essence of street vendors from yesteryear. This nostalgic theme offers a chance to explore perspective and tonal values to bring those memories back to life on paper!
