Sunlit Quiet

We’re painting a bit of calm into our lives this week, with soft washes, gentle layering, and a solitary figure soaking up a warm, peaceful day. What better way to wash away the stress and remind ourselves we sometimes just need to slow down and simply be… ☺️

Ancient Architecture

Fields of Gold

Who could do with a splash of sunshine right now!😎
Working with oil pastels again, we’re building up layers of colour and texture to create a rich yellow rapeseed field contrasting against a dazzling blue sky — the perfect antidote to a grey day in February!

Day Trip

Oil pastels at the ready! With three sessions of drawing behind us, we move forward onto oil pastels with “day trip” as our theme. From high speed trains to a bus by the sea, we’re exploring that lovely feeling of freedom, being on the move and going places.

Warthog

Getting our full attention this week is… the wiry warthog. Motley tusks, warty bumps, a flat snouty nose and tiny eyes… what’s not to love! We’ve been exploring subtractive art and expressive marks, to capture all the quirky lumps, bumps, blemishes and wrinkles of this adorably-ugly character.

AUTUMN EXHIBITION 2025

What a wonderful day it was, celebrating all the hard work everyone has put in over the past three months! With around 400 artworks on display, the exhibition was a truly inspiring sight.

A huge well done to everyone who took part… your enthusiasm and willingness to get involved are what make this such a successful and special event each season. A heartfelt thank you also goes to all the family and friends who came along to support our artists and helped make the day even more memorable. We’re delighted to share that the raffle raised £264, all of which has been donated to the church in support of the wonderful work they do at Christmas time. Thank you for your generosity! 💖
